I was wondering if you could try to apply this style to other simple bird drawings, like a red robin or a crow. You have the technical skill, as this drawing shows, but I think to get the most out of a tutorial you apply its principles to new ideas as well.

Well of course. Sometimes, the need to try and make it my own does come up, but sometimes it takes more time to even think of an image to apply the techniques on. I do enjoy following these video tutorials and sometimes I need to repeat some of the lessons while I draw and doing something new. As unless something is there for me to see, I can't remember things on my own, and that includes a lot of info to take in at a time. Hopefully, with hands on practice, it becomes second nature.
