How is bluesky compared to the mainstream sites? I mainly left Twitter and Instagram because of the AI, toxicity and difficulty in growth, so I'm curious as to how bsky is different.

I'm not using Instagram currently, so I can't compare it to that. But it's leagues better than Twitter in almost every way. It has the same look and feel but not the rancid vibes. All the most important features are there and it has a couple of extra things I haven't seen on other social media apps. Besides the stuff I already mentioned, if you click on a hashtag you can view all posts with that hashtag, or just posts with that hashtag *from that specific person*. So if you tag all your art with #art or all your music with #music that instantly creates a filtered feed of all your art/music.
Some stuff is still missing tho - no group DMs, no private accounts, people hacked together a way to bookmark posts by replying a pin emoji but there's no private bookmarks yet.
And yeah, for me the big draw is that this is where the artists went to, which were the main reason I stuck around at Twitter for as long as I did. Thank God they didn't pick Threads.

holy smokes! i don't think you know how absolutely THANKFUL i am for the starter packs that you've provided!
i'll be real, in an ironic twist, due to lack of an algorithm on the site, i couldn't really find much accounts to follow (and going back to my twitter account to check who has and who doesn't have a Bluesky account would've been very time-consuming). So being able to follow and keep up with the great artists over on Newgrounds, on Bluesky, in a few clicks, is a massive blessing for me! thank you so, so much for them! maybe now i can finally start shifting into using Bluesky full-time haha! :DDDDDD <3

When I was promoting the Bzzzt Art Contest, I had less than half my Twitter following on Bluesky, but the exact same posts were getting double (or more) likes and re-posts. People actually see you there.
@GlitchBuddy Bluesky is the resetEra to twitters Something Awful from what i hear. Frankly, i give it a couple months tops before it falls apart.
